The Art of Climbing

Climbing is an art form and Ned makes it look super easy! We could tell just by watching him that he has been climbing for 20 years. There's a certain grace and flow to the way he moves! We found it mesmorising!

Next week we give it a go! Though not as graceful we certainly had a blast!

The Barn Door is Here!

This video was the title of our very first blog post and a reminder of our first filming day! It seems so long ago now and we've done much more filming since but we are excited to finally release this quick tip!

We certainly encountered our fair share of swinging barn doors before we got the hang of it!

Add-On: A Bouldering Game!

Once we had the basics of Bouldering down Ned introduced us to a fun game called Add-On. As beginners it was great to have a structured approach to engage us and help us learn together!

We thought it would be really easy starting off but it soon became super challenging!

This video also features the appearence of, 'The Barn Door' effect. Can you spot it?

We'll be releasing a quick tip regarding The Barn Door later this week!

The Open Gym Project - Join Us!

We are really excited to release our first video introducing The Open Gym project!

It's a short and sweet look at the idea behind The Open Gym project.

Through our passion for healthy living and trying new activities we've discovered first hand just how much fun and joy it brings to those willing to get out there and try for themselves.

The more we try, the more people we meet and the more this leads to new experiences! We realised that there was already an existing community here just waiting to be united! So we've set about The Open Gym project to grow this community even further.

It's all too common that we shy away from new experiences through fear of failure and the unknown but with the support of each other we can learn to enjoy the process for what it is and put less emphasis on success or excelling.

Always wanted to dance but think you can't dance? Let us show you that together and with the right attitude, attending a dance class can be incredibly joyous!

Want to try your hand at being the next ninja warrior but feel intimidated? Then watch us try and see how much fun just, 'having a go' can be!

There is more to healthy living than just hitting the gym and going on a diet. It's a way of life and can be incredibly rewarding. It's contributed greatly to our own lives and we want to share this approach with others!

The 'Barn Door' Effect

We’ve been busy behind the scenes over the last few months putting together all the pieces of the The Open Gym puzzle! We’ve had a blast so far and wanted to share some of the things we’ve been up to.

Recently we headed out to the Lock Climbing wall in Harlow to film our first Bouldering video. We were in the capable hands of our friend Ned who is a seasoned climber and qualified instructor. Quite frankly we were blown away by his exceptional knowledge and passion for climbing!

Early on Ned introduced us to a game called, ‘Add On’ which involved taking turns to create a climbing route adding one extra hold at a time. What started simple, quickly evolved into quite a technical route! During this game we learned about the, ‘Barn Door’ effect which refers to what happens when you don’t keep your weight above your feet. Some of us learned this lesson the hard way!

Once we had developed a bit of confidence we headed downstairs to a much larger climbing room with full on ropes and harnesses! In here we had a chance to do a higher climb and also see Ned in action. Everyone we met was super friendly ending up with quite the crowd gathered round to watch one of the climbers take the Go Pro up the wall to film Ned.

As the lights came down we left feeling thoroughly inspired. The vibe was spot on and we even got some leads for new videos - I believe 3D twister was mentioned at one point?!

We met some fantastic people and had a great experience. Our videos are a celebration of everywhere we go and everyone we meet! Maybe we’ll see you in our next video?
